    When should you see a psychologist or therapist?



  • You should consider seeing a psychologist or therapist when stresses, relationships, work, family, feelings or thought processes are difficult to sort or take over.


  • We treat mild, moderate and severe levels of emotional, mental and behaviour problems. We also help with life adjustment problems related to work, marriage and relationships, children, caring for aging parents, reactions to a death, coping with physical illness or injuries, and legal problems.





Some common signs of trouble for adults are:

  • feelings of hopelessness
  • depressed feelings that last
  • self destructive or suicidal thoughts
  • alcohol or drug abuse
  • eating to cope with feelings
  • fears that interfere with daily routines and responsibilities
  • sudden mood shifts or swings
  • frequent headaches, stomach or bowel upset
  • disturbed sleep
  • sexual problems
  • physical, sexual or emotional abuse
